During a long February break, I came into the studio early to make up some time lost from previous weeks. The frame sent to us from Hawaii is due to be sent to Boston soon, and the spot consolidation work the other interns and I have been tasked with is coming along, slowly, but surely.
Regarding the research needed to write the grant for the 2020 Maine bicentennial, little to no progress has been insured. After reaching out to countless libraries, historical societies, town halls etc., no one really knows where a portrait of a Maine founder would possibly be.
From a few months back we applied for a grant to restore a mural and a portrait hanging in Portland High School. We were recently told that we were selected for the grant, and can began restoring the artwork as soon as possible. Restoration for the mural will need to be conducted on site. while the portrait has been delivered safe and sound to the Project MEAC studio.
