Currently we are looking for paintings done of important Maine historical figures that need restoring. After researching the first Congressman, governor, and authors of the Maine Constitution, I contacted the town halls and historical societies located in their place of birth. The hunt for the paintings is meagerly, but ongoing.

An old portrait of a baby girl perched along side her dog and a bowl of fruit, untitled and unsigned, has been sitting in the studio untouched for two years. Recently, the owner of the piece got back in touch with MEAC, and finally gave the green light. We are hoping to start working on the piece as soon as possible.

On the another hand, the untitled painting is nearly completely cleaned. Because of the sensitive paint, a heavily diluted solvent and an extra light touch was used.  Left shows a completely clean painting, right shows the painting after one round of cleaning, upper right corner shows painting before and solvent was used
